Long Walks, Organics & African Stuff
This part of my African meanderings takes my college friend, John, and me from Nairobi, by bus, down to Dar es Salaam. The joys of cross-country African buses are "an “experience!” Pot-holed and corrugated roads addle your brain and wild animals pop up occasionally.

Read MoreThe West Highland Way in Scotland is a beautiful 150 km walk from Milngavie, near Glasgow; along the banks of Loch Lomond; across Rannoch moor; through Glen Coe; Kinlochleven; passed Ben Nevis and arriving at Fort William on Loch Linnhe. It can take between 5 - 8 days to complete. It is on the second day of this walk that I met my wife to be, Judy!
Read MoreThe Coast to Coast Path in England is a 293 km walk through three of its’ most spectacular National Parks - The Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors. Each has its own celebrated beauty and interest, and I consider it as the most “complete” walk in England. It is THAT GOOD. It will take 10 - 12 days to complete. On this occasion, I did it with my sons Tim and Jack, and Jess. We mainly camped.
